The layered look
Layering gives you options, putting a blind behind a curtain means you can leave the curtains open all the time if you choose, or you can use both to keep out the cold or the light, a carefully thought out combination will really create that wow factor!

Headings
You’ll also need to consider how you’re curtains will hang and what they’ll hang on, and the type of header you’ll use, e.g. pencil and pinch pleat curtains hang best underneath a pole or track, but you can also consider wave or eyelet curtains. Don’t forget the positioning too, do you go floor length, create a pool or sit them under the window cill.

Linings
Linings can make a huge difference to the look of your finished curtains so it's worth considering all the options and what you want from your curtains.
Do you want to add warmth, block light, reduce noise or have a sumptuous look that hangs more elegantly, or all of the above. There are lots of options available including coloured linings, blackout, fused, fire retardant, interlining and thermal lining.
It's also worth considering blackout lining where you have a light fabric with a pattern, as the blackout fabric will give a much more uniform look across the curtain especially where there are joins in the fabric.
